The Animation for Media and Advertising module equips students with the skills to design and produce dynamic visual content that enhances brand communication and storytelling. In today’s media-driven world, animation is a powerful tool for capturing audience attention and conveying messages effectively across television, digital platforms, and social media.
Students will begin by learning the principles of animation and motion graphics, before progressing to storyboarding, character design, typography, and visual composition tailored for advertising contexts. The course emphasizes the use of industry-standard software to create both 2D and 3D animations, combining imagery, text, sound, and visual effects to produce engaging advertising content.
By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

Day 1 – Intro to Animation in Advertising
Principles of animation, tools, and case studies; simple animated logo exercise.
Day 2 – Storyboarding & Concept Development
Storyboarding, character/typography design, and planning ads for different platforms.
Day 3 – Motion Graphics & Animation Basics
Keyframing, text/graphics animation, and syncing sound with visuals.
Day 4 – Production & Visual Effects
Compositing, color/branding, and creating polished animated scenes.
Day 5 – Final Project & Presentation
Produce a 30–60 sec animated ad; export, polish, and present to peers.
