Beyond the Book: Designing the DIGIREALM Library & Museum

DIGIREALM is a 1,500 m² public facility that redefines the relationship between digital technology and physical learning environments. Designed for the KLCC, this project tackles the modern challenge of “Museum Fatigue” and declining reading interest through a fusion of Parametric and Biophilic design.

Key Design Strategies:

  • The Working Ecosystem: Instead of static bookshelves, the space is an “Open Plan” layout that encourages flexibility and social interaction among users.

  • Biophilic Integration: A centered atrium provides natural sunlight and “clean air” through green plant integration, creating a cool, calming atmosphere.

  • Technological Narrative: The Infoscape Museum section uses a “Fragments Principle” to educate visitors on the evolution of technology, transforming a library visit into an immersive storytelling experience.

  • Sensory Balance: The interior uses a high-contrast palette of deep blues and vibrant oranges, balancing calm study zones with energetic interactive areas.

Design Aim: To create a visually comfortable, working-friendly ecosystem where technology and nature foster a closer connection between humans and information.
