The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in AI Landscape Design is a comprehensive, studio-based undergraduate programme designed to progressively develop students from foundational design learners into skilled professionals capable of applying artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies within landscape design practice. The programme begins by establishing core competencies in design thinking, visual communication, ecological literacy, and technical drafting through introductory design studios, principles of spatial composition, graphic communication, tropical ecology, plant biology, and foundational digital tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and basic 3D modelling.
As students advance, the curriculum deepens their understanding of planting design, climate-responsive and tropical landscape strategies, construction materials, site engineering, grading, hydrology, and environmental impact assessment. At the same time, students are introduced to data-driven and AI-assisted design approaches that support environmental analysis, landscape simulation, and design optimization, ensuring that landscape solutions are technically sound, environmentally responsible, and feasible for implementation.
At the intermediate and advanced levels, the programme expands into broader areas such as urban, rural, and regional landscape planning, green infrastructure systems, sustainable landscape technologies, cultural and heritage landscapes, community engagement, and resource management. These areas are supported by advanced digital tools and intelligent design platforms, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), AI-supported environmental analysis, and professional visualization software such as Lumion, Enscape, and D5 Render for landscape modelling, simulation, and presentation.
Throughout the programme, a sequence of progressively complex landscape design studios integrates ecological knowledge, technological innovation, spatial design, and social considerations. Supporting coursework in research methods, ethics, professional practice, project management, and consultancy prepares students to operate responsibly and effectively within professional and regulatory environments.
The programme culminates in an integrated sustainable landscape design studio and a final-year thesis or capstone project, in which students independently address complex landscape challenges using both ecological principles and AI-enabled analytical tools. Through this project, students demonstrate their ability to synthesize landscape design, environmental systems, digital technologies, and professional judgment at a level appropriate for entry-level roles in landscape design and related fields.
Graduates of the BSc in AI Landscape Design are prepared for careers in landscape design studios, urban and environmental planning agencies, ecological and sustainability consultancies, digital landscape visualization, and smart city development, or for further study in landscape architecture and related built environment disciplines.
