This course focuses on the principles and practices of designing commercial spaces that seamlessly integrate functionality, branding, and customer experience. Students learn how to conceptualize and develop interiors for retail, hospitality, office, and other public environments, with an emphasis on aligning design choices to brand identity and target audience.
The project challenges students to:
Conduct research on brand philosophy and market positioning.
Translate brand values into spatial concepts, material palettes, and visual storytelling.
Apply advanced space planning, lighting strategies, and circulation flow to enhance user experience.
Curate finishes, textures, and furnishings that reflect both aesthetic appeal and commercial practicality.
Through this project, students develop the ability to design interiors that not only attract and engage customers but also communicate brand identity and support business goals. Their final presentations include mood boards, floor plans, 3D visualizations, and material selections, demonstrating a professional approach to commercial design solutions.
